You are likely a good match for Egypt if:
You are a First Responder, Helper, Healer or "Anxious Professional” seeking therapy
You are a High School Student or Young Adult (20s to mid 40s), struggling to find your way
You like a “straight- forward” approach and don’t mind being gently challenged to reach your therapeutic goals
You are curious about how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) treatment or Eye- Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) can help you
You have experienced GREEK trauma, hazing or similar issues related to joining large, organized groups, such as microaggression at the workplace
You need flexible evening and/ or weekend sessions
A Letter From Egypt
Hey!!! I’m Egypt Buie and I am an African- African New York City native, a three time alumni from the illustrious Coppin State University; obtaining my Bachelor of Science degree in 2013, Masters Science in Human Service Administration in 2015 , Masters of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling in 2018, and Certificate of Counseling in 2020.
Since moving to Baltimore in 2010 I have hustled in the field of education for 9 years . I am currently a Dean of Student Culture, helping to establish a safe and joyous school culture at the high school level, and have dedicated my life to ensuring that black and brown students have an equitable future by way of access to appropriate resources and social emotional learning . Since entering the education field in 2013 I have obtained my graduate therapy license which has helped me to improve day to day interactions and approach with my students.
When I’m not working you can find me traveling the world, shopping, or spending time with my family. I am an avid true crime fan and Harry Potter Super Fan ( Shout out to HufflePuff).
I love working with the adolescent population as well as adults between the ages of 19-45. I have a very eclectic approach that is grounded in intentionality and accountability. I specialize in trauma therapy and use a Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach with some borrowed interventions from Person Centered Therapy . I’m also EMDR trained, and you can learn more about it here. I truly believe the client should take the lead in their therapeutic journey in order to see lasting change.
